In the three years since the second edition of the ABC of Clinical Haematology, there have been further advances in our understanding and therapies for many haematological disease. For some disorders new classification systems ahve been divised. For many disorders molecular techniques have provided major diagnostic tools and greater insight into the pathogenesis of teh disease themselves.rnrnHowever, despite the complexity of modern clinical haematology, the aim of the ABC of Clinical Haematology is to provide an overview of each disease area, with each chapter written by recognized experts in their respective areas. The structure of the book remains true to the original ABS ethos with succinct text and the liberal use of illustrations and photographic material. Key references providing more detailed information can be found at the end of each chapter to assist readers who may wish to obtain more detailed information about particular topics.rn
