Handbook of Qualitative Research
Qualitative research is a field of inquiry in its own right. It crosscuts disciplines, fields, and subject matter. A complex, interconnected family of items, consepts, and assumptions surround the term qualitative research. These include the traditions associated with positivism, poststucturalism, and the many qualitative research perpective studies (the chapter in Part II take up these paradigms). There are separate and detailed literatures on the many methods and approaches that fall under the category of qualitative research, such as intervieweing, participants observation, and visual methods.
